Awaji Island onions grow in mineral-rich soil.

If you can grab it, you can get a 1.5 kg onion (onion catcher), and a giant object (onion) is placed on the observation deck overlooking the sea.

One after another, projects brimming with onion love are produced by Uzunokuni Minami-Awaji, which operates the Uzu-no-Oka Ooamon Bridge Memorial Museum.

The team that makes me chuckle includes Yuji Miyaji.

Ten years ago, the restaurant and souvenirs had few special features and the facility was lonely. In an attempt to please people with island specialties, we challenged ourselves to a national competition for local burgers. We made a thick onion cutlet the main ingredient, and it turned out to be surprisingly delicious.

In 2013 (Heisei 25), the specialty burger, which won first place, sells 150,000 servings a year. They also value the longevity of their business.
