ウズネタリウム

In this zone, visitors can see a hydraulic model, one of the rarest in the world, which generates the whirlpools of the natural world as they occur in reality. This is the main content of the museum, where visitors can visually learn about the mechanism of the whirlpools in conjunction with images projected on a wall screen and a giant spherical screen suspended from the ceiling!

Slide and experience the height of the whirlpool!
whirling tides slider

This content is very popular among children because it allows them to experience one of the mechanisms by which the Uzushio is born, the difference in height of the sea surface between the Pacific Ocean side and the Seto Inland Sea side, by sliding on it. Of course, adults are also welcome!

going around and around in circles
Floating Circle

Now let's experience not only the height of the vortex, but also its size. This circle reproduces the size of the whirlpool, which is about 7 meters in diameter, but the actual whirlpool can be as large as 30 meters in diameter.
Also, on the walls of the circle, there are many points where you can learn the secrets of Awaji Island surrounding the Uzushio. By the time you follow the tides and reach the center, you may become a doctor of Awaji Island!
