Be sure to visit the "Uzu-no-oka Onaruto Bridge Memorial Museum," which is about a five-minute drive from the roadside station. The museum has a huge onion-shaped objet d'art and an "onion catcher" that is not a UFO catcher, making it a great source of entertainment. Both facilities are not just a side trip, but a destination.

Located at the Uzu-no-oka Onaruto Bridge Memorial Hall, this giant objet d'art is 2.8 meters high and 2.5 meters in diameter.
It is an excellent spot from which to view the Onaruto Bridge and the Seto Inland Sea.
Uzushio Science Museum
The "Uzushio Science Museum" (located in the Onaruto Bridge Memorial Hall on the hill of the whirlpools) offers a chance to learn about the mechanism of the whirlpools with a huge hydraulic model and powerful video images.

The "Awajishima Sea Urchin Cream Croquette Burger" for 1,080 yen (top) and the "Awajishima Onion Beef Burger" for 648 yen (bottom), which won first place in the "National Local Burger Grand Prix", are available only at the "Uzu no Oka Onaruto Bridge Memorial Hall.
